Intec Business College | Rugby

This project comprises the conversion of an existing schoolhouse, dating back to 1840, into contemporary offices for Intec Business College. HB Architects provided architectural and interior services during the seven month contract, to create Intec’s prestigious headquarters.

The scheme involved the demolition of existing single storey extensions, which were replaced with a contemporary glass and polished block main entrance/reception. All existing timber framed windows were removed and replaced with contemporary frameless double glazed units.

Additional floor space was created by installing a mezzanine floor. This was set off the external walls to leave a double-height space around the windows. A first floor bridge was designed to link the two buildings together, utilizing an existing Gothic stone arch and replicating the proportions with a new brick Gothic arch.
